Questions, answered
- How does a World Cup office pool work?
- One person creates a pool and shares a link. Everyone who joins picks the winner (or a draw) for each group-stage match before kickoff. Correct picks score a point and the leaderboard updates automatically as results come in. Highest score after the group stage wins the bragging rights.
- Is the pool generator really free?
- Yes. Creating pools, joining, making picks, the team draw generator, and the printable schedules are all free. No accounts, no credit card, no catch.
- Do my coworkers need to sign up?
- No. Players join with just a display name through your pool link. Nobody creates an account or confirms an email.
- What is a World Cup team draw (sweepstake)?
- A random draw deals the 48 qualified teams evenly across your group. Each person roots for the teams they drew, and whoever holds the champion wins. It takes about a minute to run and works great for offices that don't want to track picks.
- Can we play for money?
- Kickoff Pools never collects or pays out money — pools on this site are for fun and bragging rights. If your group wants stakes, that's handled entirely offline by you, and you should check your local laws and workplace policy first.
